Future IOT 2018

IT 2018: the future came yesterday

The main trends that will continue to change life

Internet of things IoT - sensors and data

It is customary to consider the Internet of things as a collection of devices that transmit information, which is then processed by information and analytical systems. Someone perceives IoT as the first step to the universal chipping of people, someone treats him just as an entertainment, someone predicts an explosive growth in the number of various sensors in both private life and production.

Banks, like trade, are still suspicious of IoT because of the lack of standards for protecting such networks. Pioneers in the use of IoT are utilities (in Russia and the CIS there are global projects to collect energy consumption data), automobile concerns, enterprises and warehouses.

Undoubtedly, IoT will develop. Now mobile operators are launching special networks for connecting such devices to the Internet. And you will only need to sign a contract with the operator and put sensors that will connect to the Internet via the mobile network. This is especially important for projects such as automated parking and unmanned vehicles. Yes, yes, unmanned cars are also part of the IoT.

IoT will become the basis, firstly, for unmanned transportation of vehicles, and secondly, for global automation in the production of goods and products, in energy and, of course, in trade. In Russia, there will always be shops where products can be bought without queues at the cash register, cash and a purse. By the way, Arteziohas developed a project of a fully automated store that will compete with Amazon Go.

Artificial intelligence as a partner of natural

Artificial intelligence is a rather vague concept, which includes many technical developments: neural networks, robotics, pattern recognition, algorithms, etc. But still it is intellect, that is, in essence, the learning computational structure. Its difference from the human mind is a narrow specialization and the lack of the ability to switch between the profiles of mental activity.

AI has great prospects of application in all spheres of life. The use of artificial intelligence makes it possible to create dynamic, flexible and relatively autonomous systems. So, these systems should be used where, for example, a person can not cope with precision (in industry) or meets threats of life and safety (in nuclear power, underwater works, military sphere). And in medicine, where they expect a breakthrough from AI, its role is still advisory. AI is used to diagnose, but on the basis of AI alone, the diagnosis will not be made - because of the risk that AI did not take into account the symptoms, details and circumstances. To do this, you still need a flexible mindset of a person.

Block it is time to untie from bitcoin

Wherever you talk about the detachment, the first association with him is bitkoy. We do not presume to discuss the fate of the virtual currency (although our financiers see all the signs of a bubble in the excitement), but we can talk about the very blockbuster.

In 2018, the importance of blockade as technology will only grow. Already today you can see a lot of examples when with the help of the blockbuster business processes between many companies are being rebuilt, intermediaries in relationships are being eliminated, new business models are being built. Blochein becomes an infrastructure for a reliable, decentralized register of common facts and knowledge about all sorts of digital assets and their movements among ecosystem participants.

And if we have already heard about the first block-bargains in banks and on stock exchanges, then today the technology is rapidly spreading to health care, education, logistics and even state relations.

In 2018, we will see even more new implementations and applications of blockage, as well as examples of testing the technology in combat mode and the first industrial introduction. But do not forget that the blockade is still at the very beginning of its path and there is still no technological platform that would be an unconditional leader. The market for blockbuster platforms is now more similar to the search engine market to Google, or social networks to Facebook, or mobile platforms to iOS and Android.

And so the next year's task is to find business cases that would not have been possible without the use of blocking machines.

Virtual and augmented reality is already real

AR / VR - a sensational story that has not yet demonstrated its full potential. The most popular sphere of use at the moment is games and entertainment. But already in 2016 and 2017, serious projects in the retail sector were implemented. And then we have something to boast about: our startup developer of virtual reality applications Fibrum created for AliExpress a platform that became the basis of Ali's store in 11 cities of Russia . The solution is unique in that it is built on Web-VR technology, that is, there is enough browser to access the phone and access to the Internet, even virtual reality glasses are not required. As you already understood, the virtual store is quite cheap for a retailer, which means that the successful experience will be broadcast further.

In general, the successes of Fibrum indicate a high consumer and business interest in VR. In the portfolio of Fibrum - 36 different applications, including Roller Coaster VR, Zombie Shooter VR, VR Cinema, Space Stalker VR. The new Desirium project combines many different VR-content in one cross-platform application, which saves the user time. All VR-applications Fibrum work with any mobile helmets of virtual reality. For 4 years of the startup, the number of organic applications of the company has exceeded 20 million worldwide. In the Fibrum portfolio, more than 30 successful B2B projects implemented for clients such as the Moscow Government, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Russian Military Historical Society, Yandex Taxi, Russian Post, Google, Carlsberg Group, Kinomax, Tricolor TV ", AUTO24,not sure that AR / VR will make a powerful leap in 2018, but the development will continue unambiguously. Also at the forefront of development will be a mixed reality that does not replace something, but only improves or complements. We think that apart from retail, cultural institutions, museums, medical companies, company training centers, military training centers and even advanced driving schools are interested in virtual reality. The main bonus of AR / VR is the security of some actions that are dangerous in real life (for example, emulation of training in the use of military equipment).

Technologies of a smart city in the streets of their native country

Smart city is the widest sphere of application of information technologies and engineering innovations. The modern city is a colossal integrated environment in which everyone should feel comfortable. And 2018 will bring a lot of new to the life of Russian cities - partly as a result of projects already started, in part because of innovations to the World Cup.

We already wrote about how some elements of a smart city were implemented in Zaryadie Park , and we think that the experience gained will be broadcast further. But one of the most interesting stories happened in Birobidzhan - we want such projects to be implemented in other cities of Russia.

We have established our own production of LED lighting in the framework of energy service contracts ( LANIT-PARTNER). The peculiarity of the market of LED street lights in Russia is the redundancy of the offer. Many manufacturers in a competitive race often sacrifice quality. It is very difficult to find good options for fixtures at a reasonable price. Therefore, "LANIT-PARTNER", within the framework of its energy service contracts (for example, the project for the replacement of street lighting in Birobidzhan (Jewish Autonomous Region)) began to produce lamps. This allows you to be confident in their long-term operation.

It is in these projects that we also see a social function. Somehow a long time ago, as a child, one of our workers read about this passage: "And now, when you put out a light bulb in your hallway or in the bathroom, somewhere a great hydropower plant sighs in relief and the river works a little less." And it is this phrase that arises in the soul and in thought, when we make high-quality and economical coverage of cities. By the way, from these messages comes another eternal trend - work on environmental problems. And, believe me, we not only save the forests, but we also do everything to make white bears as often as possible look into the windows of valiant Arctic engineers .

Working with complex integration projects, we always remember that the city is primarily city dwellers. And they need convenient advanced digital services.

LANIT is one of the key participants in the largest healthcare project in the capital city on the creation and development of the Single Medical Information Analytical System (EMIA) in Moscow. It gives patients the opportunity not only to write to the doctor in various ways, but also provides modern electronic services: electronic medical record, electronic prescription, disability sheets, etc. As a result, doctors spend less time on paper routine and spend more time on the patient. In 2018, the possibilities of EMIA will be expanded.

Today, the system has registered more than 9.5 million unique patients. The total number of records for a doctor's appointment is more than 388 million. An average of 250,000 patients daily use the service. Over 42.5 million recipes have been written in electronic form. 3.7 million hospitalized in electronic form, 6.2 million electronic medical records.

Thanks to EMIAS, the self-recording queues were reduced by more than 2 times. The waiting for the beginning of the reception in most cases does not exceed 15-20 minutes, which corresponds to international practice.

This is a powerful, serious project that has allowed us to take our lead in the field of electronic services not only in Russia, but also in the world. This is confirmed by the results of reports from major international research companies and international awards:

PricewaterhouseCoopers Moscow is one of the world leaders in implementation of data-based solutions,
in 2017, Moscow received the Global MobileGov Awards 2017 international award, which is awarded for achievements in the development of electronic mobile citizens services by the state. The prize was awarded to the Moscow Department of Information Technologies for the creation of EMIA.

Digital state for living people

Today, virtually every citizen of Russia has several gadgets and at least one PC, which for him is a store, reference, entertainment, a multimedia center and, of course, a service center: a taxi, air tickets, choice and order food and much more. The trend is again evident in large companies: they issue maps, navigators, blog platforms and even telemedicine applications. A person becomes homo digital and his natural habitat, especially in densely populated cities, becomes a virtual space. So, the state must adopt the rules of the game and also become digital.

At the moment, we have already implemented several important projects that can be considered as elements of a digital state. First of all, this is GIS Utilities. The system united all market participants: managing and resource-supplying companies, executive authorities and local self-government, tenants - more than 85 thousand organizations all over the country. In this sense, in the world there are no analogues to the system created. It has a public part where you can get acquainted with the news, legislation in the field of housing and communal services, information about management companies, you can also find out tariffs, get information about subsidies, benefits and programs in the housing and communal services, housing facilities, etc. For registered users, information on property, invoices, payments made, meter readings, etc. is available in the personal account. We talked in detail about this project in our blog .

And, of course, we must not forget that cars that have become an element of digital transformation have become firmly established in our lives. And here there is an interesting and necessary project that we carried out together with the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA) - the information system "Electronic Policy of OSAGO", which is part of the AIS of the RSA.

The system "Electronic Policy of OSAGO" has a national scale. It allows to formalize policies of OSAGO in electronic form, even if the site of the insurance company is not available. With the introduction of an electronic policy, policyholders can purchase a MTPL policy via the Internet at any time of the day, without days off, from anywhere in Russia and pay it with a bank card or using other types of electronic payments. Insurers have the same opportunity to reduce the chain of sales and reduce costs for a network of insurance agents. And the traffic police can now check with the driver the existence of a valid OSAGO contract in real time. It is also very important that the risk of buying a fake OSAGO policy is excluded.

The main goal of 2018 will be the integration of disparate services into a single digital ecosystem, training and informing citizens, creating new user-friendly applications and services.

Additive technologies (3D and 4D printing) for great things

Despite the fact that 3D printers for some of us stand on the table at home or at work, private use is not the main goal of their existence (although the market is growing and will grow). Modeling and design, medicine, food industry, transportation are spheres in which 3D and 4D technologies will develop by leaps and bounds.

From 2018 we, on the one hand, are waiting for new portable printers for home use, and on the other - the first successful experiments in medicine, new solutions in the industry. Again, modeling with the help of such technologies allows you to reproduce complex objects with accuracy to a cog, and analyze the behavior in the laboratory without risking human lives and the environment. We are sure that 3D and 4D should also significantly reduce their prime cost.

Great data and analytics for the good of the business

Many companies have thought about using the array of data that they generate with the help of a huge number of computing devices, sensors and other electronics. Only you need to understand what data to store and why. Even more difficult is the question of how to analyze these data. While the most obvious sphere of use is the creation of programs that can replace human labor in routine or dangerous areas.

To formulate and clarify the tasks of analytics of large data to business, date-sentientists help. But we think that in 2018 there will be powerful and affordable analytics tools that will help to work with data not only professionals, but also experts - customers of analysts. It used to happen with OLAP and BI. We hope that history will repeat itself and that convenient utility tools will replace narrowly professional tools.

Cloud technologies continue to conquer the world

It would seem that the clouds do in the forecast for the future, when they become ordinary and even boring present. But nevertheless, this technology will remain mega-dynamic over the next few years. The value of clouds - in their reliability, low cost to customers, lack of capital costs. The cloud provides easy scaling and allows you to create and deploy service-oriented models, guarantee computing power for business purposes. In addition, the clouds are everywhere and penetrated into the lives of private users.

But the complete victory of the clouds in 2018, as in the following years, is not worth waiting for - business, especially medium and large, is cautious about storing data and client bases in the cloud. According to the Dimensiondata report, 55% of the representatives of the companies surveyed said that the main reason that keeps them from using leased facilities is a security issue. 46% of the most complex in the cloud infrastructure is cost management. This means that cloud providers early rest on their laurels - the time to increase the security of services, develop mechanisms to combat cyber threats. We think that the peak of the creation of small data centers and data centers has passed, and large, reliable centers will be formed on the market. They also have the mission of creating physical protection and information protection systems.

We tracked this trend by equipping and deploying the largest data centers.

One example is the construction of a data center in Skolkovo, the largest in Russia and one of the largest in Europe. A year and a half ago, on June 4, 2016, INSISTEMS Company scored the first pile, and the first phase of the facility was completed on December 16, 2017. It's extremely fast. On average, such data centers are rented for 36 months, but if very quickly, then for 24-25 months. "INSYSTEMS" does for 18 months. The company was able to shorten the time, because it used factory premises (leased) to assemble parts of the system. Then these parts are mounted. This reduces the installation time: to assemble systems from the finished parts faster than to mount everything directly on the site. The quality of the systems also increases.

Safety first

Of course, these are the main areas of "enterprise innovation". Outside the post there are no less interesting, but, of course, smaller issues. For example, business process management systems, chat rooms and chat-bots, mobile services and mobile technologies. Obviously, all these areas will grow and develop in 2018.

But the development of all these technologies is associated with continuously growing risks. Unfortunately, the dark side of information technology is not lagging behind the light, and hackers are armed with no less powerful tools and no less developed mind. According to the Dimensiondata report, in which technologists were interviewed around the world, in 2016, 49% of business was attacked by extortionists, extortionists were able to earn about $ 1 million, the most vulnerable were: professional and business services (28%), authorities 19%), medicine and health care (19%), retail (15%).

Digital business makes unprecedented demands on the security environment. The more complex systems and tools, the higher the threat potential. Therefore, business, working with modern technologies, is simply obliged to continuously assess risks and introduce changes in the levels of security. So, for example, today there is a new term - DevSecOps, which in 2018 will certainly become a topic of discussion at specialized conferences and will be implemented in companies. Yes, the world is created by the enterprise, but the vulnerable enterprise needs security, which will evolve at the same speed as the digital transformation. First of all, because later finding a hole in security can cost a lot of money.
